A mother-of-three from Westwood, Peterborough was the lucky winner of a £200,000 bingo jackpot at the Gala Bingo. The woman, who is in her thirties, shouted “Bingo” after only forty numbers. She needed a drink provided by the bingo staff in order to calm down.

The woman hit the National Bingo prize of £200,000, plus de regional prize of £1,518 and the house prize of £318. “I never dreamed anything like this would ever happen to me,” the woman, whose name was not revealed, said. “I’ve never been so lucky in my whole life. Now I’m going to make sure my children get the best Christmas ever, and we’re all going to go out for lunch so I won’t even have to cook.”

The lucky mum has been playing bingo twice a week for five years. “When we announced how much she had won, the atmosphere was fantastic. Everyone clapped and cheered. The whole place was buzzing,” Brad Muffitt, general manager of the bingo hall, said.

This jackpot is the sixth major prize won at the Gala Bingo Club in Peterborough, which makes it a very lucky place.
